• Payment Information: If you subscribe to our services, payments are processed through Stripe. We do not store your payment details.
• User-Generated Data: Information you enter into the platform, such as plant details and gardening tasks, and saved garden layouts (Garden Planner), is stored securely in our database using Supabase.
• Authentication Data: Managed through Supabase to verify and secure your access to the platform.
• Cookies & Tracking Technologies: We use essential cookies for authentication and session management through Supabase. These cookies are necessary for the proper functioning of the website and cannot be disabled.
• Technical Information: Such as IP address, device and browser information, collected automatically for security, fraud prevention, and service operation.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information for the following purposes:

• To provide and maintain your access to the Sproutly Gardening platform.
• To save and load your garden layouts if you choose to use the Garden Planner while logged in.
• To send service-related emails necessary to operate your account, such as email verification, password resets, billing notifications, and responses to support enquiries. These are not marketing emails and may be sent when required for the service, regardless of marketing preferences.
• To send optional marketing emails (such as product updates, gardening tips, and news about Sproutly) only if you have opted in.
• To process payments and manage subscriptions (via Stripe).
• To improve and develop our platform based on user interactions.
• To ensure secure authentication and session management using essential cookies.

3. Data Sharing and Security

• We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties.
• We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information.
• Third-party services such as Supabase (for authentication and data storage), Stripe (for payment processing), and Resend (for sending and receiving email) have their own privacy policies governing their data handling practices.
• Our data is stored and processed using trusted third-party providers, including Supabase, Stripe, and Resend, whose servers may be located outside the UK. Where applicable, appropriate safeguards are in place.

4. Cookies and Tracking

• Essential Cookies: We use essential cookies for authentication and security purposes, managed by Supabase. These cookies are required for logging in and maintaining active sessions.
• Vercel Web Analytics: We use Vercel Web Analytics to collect anonymized usage data. This service does not use cookies and does not track users across different websites. The data collected is minimal and used for aggregated statistics only. For more information, please refer to Vercel's Privacy and Compliance documentation.
• LocalStorage: We use localStorage to store user preferences, such as view settings (e.g., list or grid view). This data is stored locally on your device and is not shared with third parties.
• Garden Planner exports: If you choose to export a garden layout, the layout data is copied to your clipboard so you can paste it elsewhere. This data is not sent to us unless you save a layout while logged in.
• Because we only use essential cookies, a cookie consent banner is not required.

5. Email Communications

We send two types of email, which are handled differently:

• Service emails: Messages related to your account or use of Sproutly, such as verification, security, billing, and support. These are sent when needed to provide the service.
• Marketing emails: Optional messages about product updates, gardening tips, and news. We only send these if you have opted in.

You can opt in to marketing emails when you create an account, or later from your Account settings. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in a marketing email or by turning off the preference in your account.

6. Your Rights and Choices

• You can opt in to marketing emails when you sign up, or change your preference anytime in Account settings under Email preferences.
• You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in our messages or by turning off the preference in your account. Service-related emails may still be sent when necessary for your account.
• You can delete your account and associated data from your account settings, or by contacting us.
• Since we only use essential cookies, there is no option to disable them without affecting platform functionality.
• You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

7. Updates to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any significant changes will be communicated on our website where appropriate. If you have opted in to marketing emails, we may also notify you by email about material changes to this policy.
